Gateway Plaza |
The Gateway Plaza project is a joint venture between Buccini Pollin Group and Wilmington Savings Fund Society. The 15-story building will add approximately 350,000 s.f. of office space to the Wilmington market. The site is bounded by Washington Street, Jefferson Street, 10th Street, and Delaware Avenue (directly across from the Central YMCA). The project is scheduled to begin construction in July. The lead tenants include WSFS Bank, Morris, James, Hitchens, & Williams law firm, and the USPS. |

Ships Tavern Garage |
The Ships Tavern garage has been a long time in coming. The groundbreaking ceremony was held in 1999, but a series of mergers (First USA - BankOne - J.P. Morgan Chase) involving the lead contract tenant delayed the construction until June 2005. The eight level garage will have approximately 455 spaces, and will also feature retail space on the ground floor fronting Second Street. A long time fixture of lower Market Street, Al's Sporting Goods, will move into the retail space upon completion. The one of the existing Al's buildings (closest to 2nd Street) will be demolished, along with two smaller buildings on King Street, to make way for the garage. The Cooper's building on King Street will be rehabilitated into office space. A separate page on the construction is here. |
