Chase Manhattan Centre
My personal favorite.  Arguably the most distinctive building in Wilmington, it is also the tallest in the city and in the state of Delaware.
Delaware's Tallest:  Chase Manhattan Plaza, at 101 meters, is the tallest in the state.  Designed by S.O.M., it was completed in 1988.
The main entrance on 12th Street.  There are some Art Deco elements incorporated in this post-modern building.
Wilmington Tower (1105 Market Street)
Designed by I.M.Pei's architectural group in the early 1970's, Wilmington Tower is the only example of Brutalism in Wilmington.  The style name refers to a French word for the technique used in forming the concrete facade.
One Commerce Center
One Commerce Center is a 12 story brick faced building built in the mid 1980's on the corner of 12th and Orange streets.  Its bland profile does little to enliven 12th Street.
800 Delaware Avenue
ING has moved into the former Chase Building on Delaware Avenue as it continues to expand operations in Wilmington.  A cyber cafe is being built in the lobby.
800 Delaware Avenue (right) dominates the western gateway into downtown, as well as the view from I-95, which passes below street grade just to the building's left.  802 Delaware Avenue is shown to the left.
Rooftops Shots
Looking out to the Delaware Memorial Bridge in the background, which connects Delaware with New Jersey.
One Christina Center (right) and the New Castle County Courthouse.  The courthouse was completed in late 2003, while One Christina Center was completed in the late 1980's.
