Another of the many furniture outlets on lower Market.  Cooper's is long abandoned, but Struever Bros. is anxious to started rehabbing this block, like they did my block.
The old city Customs House on King Street is the ceremonial hall for Wilmington College.  Part of the New Castle County Courthouse can be seen in the background.
Part of the Wilmington Rowing Club's building (the white building) sits on the banks of the Christina.  An old manufacturing plant rusts in the background.
The Wilmington Savings Fund Society's (WSFS for short) main office and branch at 9th and Market Streets.  The building, built in 1929, has an enormous mural painted by N.C. Wyeth in the banking hall.  There are five floors on the King Street side.
Now the headquarters for Wilmington Trust, the lower section was the Wilmington Post Office.  The current Post Office is located in the basement of the building, but is being forced out due to "security concerns."  A future site is yet to be determined.
The Farmers Bank building at 3rd and Market Streets now houses the Delaware Bar Assocication.  The Delaware State seal is in relief in the pediment.
The Market Street elevation of the Wilmington Public Library.  This Greek Neo-Classical building has outstanding details and carvings both inside and out.
The former Daniel Herman courthouse.  This building used to house the state courts, Chancery Court, and before the City/County building was erected, the city offices and City Hall.  Below the two porticos were inscribed blocks reading:  City Hall and Courthouse.  When the courts move to their new building down King Street, MBNA purchased the building in 2003.  Intentions to convert it to offices came to a halt when new management within MBNA nixed the plan (also the plan to build another building downtown).  The "City Hall" and "Courthouse" blocks were replaced with MBNA blocks (they did a poor job at matching the stone also).
The 13 story Legal Arts building on 13th and King Streets.
